About Me

I graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in English and Philosophy. While raising my family in Northern California I worked for more than 10 years as an advertising manager and writer for an alternative newspaper in Marin County.

My turning point occurred when I was 41 and was diagnosed with breast cancer. Trusting in my body's innate ability to heal itself, I decided to forego radiation and chemotherapy and heal myself naturally. I was blessed with success and have been fully recovered for many years now. After that, I decided to pursue what I had always wanted to do - be a healer. I made major life changes, went to school for 4 years and graduated from Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward, California in 1988.

I then took the grueling 4 day California licensing exams, passed and became a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic. My scope of practice as a chiropractor includes ordering labs and x-rays, diagnosing problems in the spine and eliminating abnormal functioning of the human nervous system by manipulation of all spinal and extra-spinal segments either with my hands or various instruments. I am now licensed in the state of Colorado as well.

Although my license is in chiropractic, my interest and practice has always been focused on nutritional and naturopathic therapies (see below) primarily stubborn and chronic disorders. Alternative anti-aging and longevity medicine is a particular interest of mine. I have been practicing in Boulder, Colorado for 20 years now.

What exactly is naturopathic medicine?

Naturopathy is an umbrella term used to describe the original basis of natural, wholistic and alternative medicine as first formulated by 19th century European physicians. Under the umbrella of naturopathy reside most alternative practitioners including acupuncturists, homeopaths, chiropractors and any body therapies (massage therapy, Feldenkrais, Aston Patterning, Rolfing etc.)

A naturopath understands that nature heals and that the body is inherently self-healing given the appropriate support therapies such as diet, herbs, detoxification techniques, nutrition supplements, exercise, heat and water therapies, massage, bodywork, counselling and relaxation techniques. Naturopathy emphasizes disease prevention and health promotion.
