June 2020 News (Con't)Between COVID and President Pumpkinhead's shenanigans, I think we are all a bit nuts. There is certainly no trying to "plan" anything. The old Buddhist maxim of "becoming comfortable with uncertainty" is being uncomfortably thrown in our faces as another Buddhist concept of "living in the moment" becomes not only paramount but essential. Something to think about and ponder other than COVID and our certain death:
"The brain breathes mind, like the lungs breathe air." Huston Smith And "The brain cannot generate thought anymore than the electric wire generates current." Larry Dossey
I wanted to briefly mention how the COVID virus works, and this is compliments of the famous M.D., Leo Galland. There are 3 enzymes that play a critical role in COVID infection and they are 1) the ACE-2 enzyme, 2) Furin and 3) 3-CL Protease. (There will NOT be a quiz after this...)
The COVID enters our cells by attaching to the ACE-2 enzyme on the cell surface. If you want to stop infection at the ACE-2 enzyme level, we want to make sure to restore it to working levels, as many of us have diminished levels of this enzyme for various reasons, like old age, diabetes and heart disease. How do we do this? First of all, vitamin D is essential for ACE-2 function, so get that up to at least 60 (I just had mine tested and it was 83). Then regular aerobic activity, a plant-based diet rich in polyphenols like curcumin, resveratrol and alpha-lipoic acid. Plus the herbs, astragalus and scutellaria.
Now for Furin: We want to inhibit that because it helps the ACE-2 latch onto the cell. Things that inhibit Furin are andrographis and noni. It so happens that noni leaf and all luteolins directly block the entry of SARS-CO-V into cells by sticking to the surface of the nasty spike protein. I sell noni in the form of Supreme Nutritions Morinda.
Now 3-CL Protease inhibition: The COVID produces the 3-CL Protease as part of its sneaky plan to inhabit your body. This then promotes damage and the spread of the virus to other cells. If you get this far with a COVID infection after trying to prevent an infection by raising ACE-2 levels and lowering Furin levels then this is what is suggested you do: Eat as many dietary flavonoids as you can as they inhibit the spread and limit the severity of the COVID infection. Elderberry and Houttuynia both inhibit as do quercetin, onions, apples, flax seeds and black and puerh tea.
"This is the first, the wildest and the wisest thing I know: That the soul exists and is built entirely out of attentiveness". Mary Oliver
What you could also do right now is this: As mentioned before, work on raising your D levels as if your life depends on it. I am suggesting 10K I/U's per day during this pandemic. And, please, let's get your vitamin D levels measured so we can see where we are with you. For example, if you have a level of 40, then probably more than 10,000 I/U's are needed to raise your D to protective levels. You could add mushrooms to your prevention plan, especially reishi and turkey tail, and eat plenty of fermented foods to keep your gut happy.
"When it feels to you as if someone is pushing your button, realize that you are the one with a great big button out there that is just begging to be pushed. If you don't put it out there, no one will push it." Abraham
Make your own hand sanitizer with alcohol and aloe vera. Here's a recipe: T C alcohol, S C aloe vera and a few drops of good smelling essential oils. Keep wearing your mask for now. I bought a few cute ones from Etsy and from a woman here in town who makes them for $5 each. Let me know if you would like her name. Masks, even homemade ones, have a significant protective effect on viral spread through communities. Don't be a Covidiot! Wear your mask. Don't be contributing to evolution and natural selection! Wash your hands more than you want to and for 20 seconds at a time.
